Roman Theater

A well-preserved basalt Roman theater built during the reign of Emperor Philip the Arab. It reflects the city’s planned Roman urban design and is still used occasionally for cultural events.

The remains of the planned Roman city include straight streets, city gates, foundations of public buildings, and distinctive black-basalt construction typical of Jabal al-Arab.
